6/13 Gamethread: Giants @ Cardinals

Perales
After winning a thrilling back-and-forth affair Monday's series opener,  the San Francisco Giants will try to find an important roadway collection triumph today against the St. Louis Cardinals. Fortunately is that if they fall short,  they'll get a 2nd chance tomorrow. The much better news is that if they do well,  they can choose a sweep tomorrow. I enjoy sweeps. The Giants are offering the round to righty Alex Cobb,  who makes his 14th start of the year. He's been fascinating this year,  with a 5-2 document,  a 3.01 AGE,  a 3.30 FIP,  and 71 strikeouts to 19 walks in 74.2 innings. He's been all over the area in his last 3 begins however,  with 11 runs in nine innings against the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies sandwiching 7.2 scoreless innings against a better team,  the Baltimore Orioles. If Cobb does not go deep in this video game or if the Giants find themselves in a blowout we could see the MLB debut of righty Keaton Winn,  who was contacted on the Cardinals it's righty Jack Flaherty on the pile. Flaherty is only 27 years of ages,  yet he does not look similar to the guy who rupture on the scene in his very early 20s,  and that completed 4th in Cy Youthful ballot in 2018 after uploading a 2.75 period and leading the National League in WHIP and strikes per nine innings. This year he's 3-4 with a 4.15 ERA Orioles Store,  a 4.31 FIP,  and 72 strikeouts to 40 walks in 69.2 innings. He's just given up six home runs in his 13 beginnings,  so he might eliminate the Giants favored offensive tool,  but he's given up much more walks than any type of various other pitcher in the NL,  so the Giants needs to have sufficient opportunity there.
