Apachecon NA 2016 - Quick Update

Sharan-F
Hi Everyone

Apachecon NA in Vancouver is only a week away so here is a brief update.

Unfortunately one of our OFBiz speakers (Ruth Hoffman) has had to cancel so we are no longer are doing a mini track as she was chosen to present a couple of the sessions. This means we only have one OFBiz talk on the schedule (mine about Configuring OFBiz).  I'll also be doing a talk in the Community Track about Consensus and both my talks are scheduled for Friday morning (the 13th!).

Anyway I hope that this doesn't stop people from the community attending Apachecon. I will be in Vancouver all week (for BigData and Apachecon) so will be happy to meet up and talk to people.  I've also volunteered to help out on the ASF booth so you should be able to find me there. If anyone from the community is coming to Apachecon or if you are located in the Vancouver area and want want come by for coffee and a chat, then please let me know.

During the week I'll try to provide conference updates via the mailing list or Twitter.

Thanks
Sharan

Hi Everyone

My first day at Apache Big Data in Vancouver has been really busy. It's a lovely city and the weather has been great. I've been helping out on the ASF booth and  generally taking to people about the ASF. Then out of the blue I saw a badge with a name I recognised Jinghai Shi, OFBiz Committer from China. What a nice surprise!

We are both in Vancouver all week and have already been talking OFBiz! So if anyone from the community wants to meetup with us while we are here then please let me know.

I've also heard that the location for Apachecon EU has been announced as Seville, Spain.

I'll try and post another update later in the week.

Thanks
Sharan

Don't mention Boston Bruins; you're apt to cause another riot with the
hockey crowd up there.

Hi All

Just finished my 2 Apachecon talks so can relax now. I'll write up a bit of a summary update once I get back. (My long flight back starts in a few hours)

Had a great time over here and met a lot of new people. It's been fantastic.

Thanks
Sharan
