Assistance

tomtheriault521@gmail.com
Hi,

I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask ??? Please advise if there is some other forum.

I need help.  I am learning all of this stuff in a sence, still at the very beginning working through html, css, javascript etc ... trying to decide whether to move toward the Apache open source pre-developed solution(s) or start from scratch on a SQL sever and just build / develop from scatch ??

I want to evaluating the OffBiz solution as an individual who is would be building the solution - meaning integrate / emulate our database into OffBiz.  We have a pre-exsisting FileMaker solution we want to migrate away from, but bring in / import data tables and overall database concecpt ( try to adapt ) we had created.  I don't have a strong development background my experience is only with a single scritping solution db(FileMaker ) and I don't really understand how flexible this solution is if our solution requires a modifacation ... can or will OffBiz accomidate changes of not allow ??? a lot of questions.

Is there anybody in the community that has a complete understanding OffBiz / Apache and would be whiling to be available for inital discussion on the OffBiz solution.

Then, if I went forward, assistance with the installation of OffBiz on a server ???

Anyway a lot of questions initally then as I develop on my own, someone who would be available based on a per issue support / fee.

Please reply to my email [hidden email]

Thank you.
Tom

Hi Tom,

Your message has been moderated.

Yes it's the right place to ask.  But please subscribe to the user ML.See why here http://ofbiz.apache.org/mailing-lists.html

You will get a better support and it's more fair to share with everybody
The wider the audience the better the answers you might get

Also it's more work for moderators who have to accept your messages as long as you have not subscribed.

Thanks

Jacques

Hi Tom,

It may not be obvious from the reply by Jacques, but you have hit the right
place to raise the questions.

What I gather from your posting is that you already have a application that
uses a defined database structure on the Filemaker platform. Can you
elaborate a bit more on what the application is supposed to deliver
(functionality/process wise)?

OFBiz is a very flexible platform with a mature development framework (and
a lot of functionalities already in place) that will surely cater to
whatever business needs you may have.

Maybe we can have a chat on e.g. Skype to delve a bit deeper into your
requirements, needs and possibilities?

Best regards,

Pierre Smits
