Best Practices For Integrating Custom Component (/hot-deploy) with existing (ecommerce)

Ghosty
I was wondering what the best practices are for integrating an external component with an existing one.  I've just created a more extensive product review component that I wish to replace the existing review functionality with in the ecommerce application.

Is there a way to do this without touching any of the files in the ecommerce application?  I imagine this would be most ideal for compatibility with future updates to ofbiz etc.

Thanks!

Just keep your custom component in hot-deploy, then modify ecommerce to use it. Create a patch from the ecommerce modification and you'll be all set.
