Cancel DropShip Purchase Order

Donna M. Rode
Hello,

Please bear with me as I have just subscribed to this list.

I have searched the archives in Nabble but have not been successful in
finding a previous discussion of my question.

We have the automatic dropship on low quantity set up for some of our
items with the purchase order being created automatically for the
dropship. Due to a not-yet-fixed bug, some orders get a purchase order
created that don't actually need one.

We would like to be able to cancel *just* the purchase order without
cancelling the sales order. Is this possible?

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

P.S. I'm not even sure which version of OFBiz we're using. Where do you
find that? As you can tell I'm pretty much a pure user--the application
was customized for us (not very well I may add) by a 3rd party.

Based on a general knowledge of OFBiz, but no knowledge of your
particular implementation I would say yes it is certainly possible,
but how much work is necessary to change the system to support it is
another question.

You're best bet for questions like this is usually either your service
provider, or hiring another service provider to do some "forensics".
Unfortunately many implementations have so many custom changes that
not only is it hard for people if they don't know which version or
revision of OFBiz you are using, but also not knowing what changes
have been made and how this was implemented.

You might get some helpful comments from others on the mailing list
here, but in general my guess is that almost no one has adequate
knowledge of your particular situation to answer this (unless your
service provider is listening in).

One advantage of using something like OFBiz, especially if your
contract with your service provider gives you full rights to the
custom code they write for you, is that it is easy from a technical
point of view to move from one service provider to another. However,
there are many issues that go beyond the technical ones that can make
that a fairly painful experience, so I don't envy your position!

Best of luck,
-David

The short answer is yes it is possible, but may not be advisable.

As to version lets at least get close is to look at the folders and
dates of files.

The provider you chose can also pull you installation into their machine
and run a compare to see what has changed pretty quickly.

This should not take more than a couple of hours at the most.
- From there the provider can give you some estimates on what you want to
accomplish.
