Configurable product options question

skhalil
Hi community,

I cannot found the detail of a configuration (i.e. options) of a configurable product in the order. Suppose, I buy a configurable PC, how can the backoffice do an assembly of that PC if the chosen configuration is not stocked somewhere, or if the user want to cancel an option or modify it how can it be done? Also if I want to update an order from the backoffice, and add a configurable product, how can I pick my options?

Thanks & regards,

Khalil

there has been quite a bit of discussion both on the user and dev lists.
some has to do with dealing with the configuration after an order is placed.

However the actual ordering process to the creation is covered and
works. If you don't have the inventory then it will not run the process
and will not put in inventory as a completed item.
Remember these configuration are built at the time of the order, to the
raw materials must be in inventory.

Thanks for your reply BJ, I understand that the parts must be in stock to complete processing the order, but when the order is processed, is there somewhere where I can find the configuration picked by the customer ? Because I need to keep track of this config for further use, and not just use it to obtain a total price (as I said to know how to assemble the ordered PC for example).

Regards,

Khalil
