Confused of the type of Manufacturing products

Hello friends

I have some queries for manufacturing products
I am simulating one manufacturing process. In the end , finished product is
generated along with
some waste product.

1. So how can i define that waste product ? or
Is the Scrap factor we put in the BOM simulation counters that?

2. In case of two linear seq of processes , do i need to create the output
product
    of first Task?. if so  shld i make it as product type *raw material *or
*work-in-progress* type
