Credit card transaction string

Hi,
We are integrating with an external credit card provider. In the process of auth payments we receive a transaction id which we have to store, in order to capture the payment later.

What column in what table is the natural place to store this transaction id? SUB_REFERENCE in PAYMENT_GATEWAY_RESPONSE?
