GL Account vs GL Account Type vs GL Account Class vs GL Account Type Default

I'm new to this Ofbiz and thank you for the input.

When you create a new GL Account ID is it that you enter a GL Account Type for that new GL Account?

Some background. There are many questions about the GL Account ID, GL Account Class ID, GL Account Type ID, but this table seldom gets mentioned GL Account Type Default.
