Converting NSF (Notes Storage Facility) files to PST (Personal Storage Table) manually involves several steps. NSF files are primarily associated with IBM Lotus Notes, while PST files are used by Microsoft Outlook. Here's a general outline of the process:

Note: Before proceeding, make sure you have access to both Lotus Notes and Outlook, as well as the necessary permissions to export data from Lotus Notes.

Step 1: Export Data from Lotus Notes (NSF to CSV)

Open Lotus Notes on your computer.

Click on "File" and select "Open."

Choose your NSF file and click "Open."

In the Lotus Notes application, select the data you want to export (e.g., emails, contacts, calendar entries).

Go to "File" > "Export."

In the "Export" dialog box, choose a location to save the exported data.

In the "Save As Type" field, select "Structured Text."

Provide a name for the export file and click "Export."

In the "Export Structured Text" dialog box, select the options that apply to your data export (e.g., date range, fields to export).

Click "OK" to begin the export process. Lotus Notes will create a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file containing your exported data.

Step 2: Import Data into Outlook (CSV to PST)

Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.

Click on "File" > "Open & Export" > "Import/Export."

In the "Import and Export Wizard" window, choose "Import from another program or file" and click "Next."

Select "Comma Separated Values" and click "Next."

Click the "Browse" button to locate and select the CSV file you exported from Lotus Notes.

Choose how you want Outlook to handle duplicates during the import process (e.g., replace duplicates, allow duplicates).

Select the destination folder in Outlook where you want to import the data. You can create a new folder for this purpose.

Click "Next" and then "Finish" to initiate the import process. Outlook will import the data from the CSV file into the selected folder.

Depending on the amount of data, this process may take some time.

Step 3: Verify and Organize Data

After the import is complete, review your Outlook folders to ensure that the data has been successfully imported.

Organize the data as needed, create folders, and move items to their respective locations.

Step 4: Back Up Your PST File

To ensure data integrity, it's essential to back up your Outlook PST file regularly. You can do this by going to "File" > "Open & Export" > "Import/Export" and selecting "Export to a file."

Follow the wizard to create a backup of your PST file.

Manually converting NSF to PST can be a time-consuming process, especially for large datasets. For more complex migrations or to automate the process, you may consider using third-party migration tools or services that are specifically designed for converting Lotus Notes NSF files to PST format. These tools can streamline the migration and handle various data types and complexities.
