Using the MS ExMerge.exe Utility Tool

Microsoft offers a dedicated utility application, the Microsoft Exchange Merger tool that you can use to extract EDB files and export them into a PST format. If you can’t find the utility tool already installed, then you can download it from any reliable source online. Afterward, you can learn how to open an EDB file without an Exchange server in the following way:

Step 1: Choose to Extract an EDB file

At first, you can just open the MS ExMerge.exe utility application on your system and start its wizard to extract EDB files to PST.
From the available options, you can choose to extract data from an EDB server. Besides that, you can also choose to directly import data from an EDB server.

Step 2: Enter Details about the Server and Select a Mailbox

Now, to open an EDB file without Exchange, you need to enter specific details about the Exchange server (like domain, name, port, and so on).

Once you have entered details about the server, you can simply select a mailbox that you wish to access.

Step 3: Extract the EDB File’s Content to a PST File

Lastly, you can browse to a location where you want to save the converted PST file and wait. The application will convert the EDB file and would let you access your data easily.
