How to use ajax, in the menu-item

In the XXXMenus.xml, How can I import ajax in the link tag. When user click the menu, and only content area refresh.
For example, Flat Grey theme. when click app-navigation menu, the contentarea refresh.

Please give me some idea, thank you very much.
