Import MBOX to a PST file

jeniferdesula
To import MBOX to a PST file, you must choose the simplest method. Many email client applications, such as Apple Mail and Pocomail, can be imported using this SysInspire MBOX to Outlook converter programme. Eudora, Spicebird, Entourage, Google Takeout, Netscape, SeaMonkey, and so on are several examples of web browsers. This tool allows you to convert MBOX to PST files in bulk without making any mistakes. It also supports all MS Outlook versions 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, and so on. This app is available in a free edition, which you can download here.

To import MBOX files into a PST file, you can follow these general steps using Microsoft Outlook. Keep in mind that these steps may vary slightly depending on the version of Outlook you're using:

Download and Install Mozilla Thunderbird (if not installed):
Before you can import MBOX files into Outlook, you need to convert them to a format that Outlook can understand. Use Mozilla Thunderbird to import the MBOX files and then export them to the EML format.

Import MBOX Files to Thunderbird:
Install and open Mozilla Thunderbird.
Set up an email account or use a dummy account.
Go to "Tools" > "ImportExportTools" > "Import MBOX file."
Browse and select the MBOX files you want to import.
Choose the target folder in Thunderbird to import the files.

Export MBOX Emails to EML Format:
Right-click on the folder containing the imported MBOX emails.
Choose "Save as" > "File" and select "EML" as the file format.
Save the EML files to a folder on your computer.

Import EML Files to Outlook:
Open Microsoft Outlook.
Create a new folder in Outlook where you want to import the emails.
Drag and drop the EML files from the folder where you saved them into the new Outlook folder.

Create a New PST File (if needed):
If you want to import the emails into a new PST file, follow these steps:
Go to "File" > "New" > "Outlook Data File."
Choose the location and name for the new PST file.
Set a password if you want to secure the PST file.
Click "OK."

Import EML Files into PST:
Right-click on the Outlook folder where you dropped the EML files.
Choose "New Folder" to create a new subfolder.
Drag and drop the EML files into the new subfolder.

Compact the PST File:
To optimize the PST file's performance, you can compact it:
Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings."
Select the "Data Files" tab and choose the PST file.
Click "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Outlook Data File Settings."
Click "Compact Now."

Backup and Clean Up:
After successful import, it's a good practice to back up your PST file and clean up any unnecessary files.

Greetings,
Peter
