Install/Compile Errors

Arthur Marquez
Hello.
I am quite new at this. I am working to install/compile OFBiz on my ACER
laptop, to test for our use as an enterprise system.

While I am familiar with many enterprise software applications (in business
process), I am limited in experience of installs at this level.

I am running into these errors:

1:
illegal reflective access

2:
:compileJava FAILED  Could not load class 'com.sun.tool.javac.api.JavacTool

Hi Arthur Marquez,

Could you please share which ofbiz version you are using?

It seems its related to java setup issue.

Thanks & Regards

Re: Install/Compile Errors

Arthur Marquez
Hello Deepak,

Yes. The version of OFBIZ: 16.11.03

Java JDK: I tried 8, and then used 9 (which garnered the additional "illegal
reflective access" error.

Thanks for your attention.

Re: Install/Compile Errors

Arthur Marquez
After installing JDK 8, I got only the ":compileJava FAILED Could not load
class 'com.sun.tool.javac.api.JavacTool".

I installed JDK 9, and got both errors.

Re: Install/Compile Errors

taher
what is the value of $JAVA_HOME, and is it correctly pointing to your
JDK 8 directory, not the JRE?

Re: Install/Compile Errors

taher
I assume you are on Windows. If yes, then there should be an
environment variable called JAVA_HOME. It should be pointing to your
JDK, nor the JRE. The JDK is located somewhere under program files.
JAVA_HOME should be set up correctly to point to it.

Re: Install/Compile Errors

taher

started. Also make sure to use java 8, not 9. It is not yet tested or
supported, it's just been out for a day

Re: Install/Compile Errors

Arthur Marquez
Okay.
Thanks for the input.
I'll uninstall 9, and install 8.
Then, I'll check that JAVA is being 'seen'.
