Release 4, version: 602199 Do I not have things configured properly or is "Send Email" in Party Profile not functional? I click on the "Send Email" button next to an email address for a party. The form pops up and I fill in the fields and click "Save". Should an email be sent? It's not being sent in my version. you are lucky I am just installing these screens for my company here and I will update these screens to be a bit more user friendly in the next few weeks. An email is only send if you change the status to 'pending' and after that to 'in progress' then the mail will be send if your parameters in general.properties are correctly set. The note field on the communication event i think is for the communication event, not for the party. Email then put a Send button on the form that changes these statuses so the message will be sent. Yes, this is what my Sales Director is requesting. The sales team accesses
hundreds of contact/prospects from a day. There are at least 3?4? steps that need to be taken to send an email. But, I believe this falls under functionality pertaining to Contact Management. If I understand the state of OFBiz correctly, the current Party Manager (Release 4) is not a contact management app but there is a separate effort by dedicated individuals creating a Contact Manager app for OFBiz?? Not centralized, meaning not under a application folder.
Capabilities are like the entities and UI are available, but not in CRM format. Could do this by just using menus and widgets to pull like the communication events based on different filters. Creating Customers, do quotes, and sales.
