A jacketed plug valve is one of plug valve designs incorporated with the outer jacket surrounding the valve body permitting a heating or cooling medium, such as steam or oil, to be circulated around the valve. Its design prevents the process fluid within the valve from reaching an ambient temperature to freeze, crystallize, or become excessively vicious.
