Let’s Talk About Misconceptions in Mental Health

One thing I keep seeing online is confusion around terms like what’s DID, and how people assume it's just a dramatic behavior rather than a real mental health disorder. That misunderstanding can make it harder for people to seek support when they need it.

Separately, I’ve been learning about how emotional reactions—like appearing stubborn or overly reactive—are sometimes labeled as petulant even when they’re actually tied to trauma or nervous system responses.

Curious if anyone here has gone through the process of unlearning misconceptions and what helped you understand the real science behind these conditions.
