Hi All
At Apachecon Hans mentioned that an OFBiz Youtube channel had been setup up a few years ago and was used to load some framework training videos David has created. http://www.youtube.com/ofbiz At the time Youtube wasn’t that big and the ASF weren’t actively using it – now however things have really changed and the ASF and projects are more into social media. I think it would be good to use this channel to help promote and market OFBiz. I’ve contacted Bruno who originally setup the channel for the username and passwords but since google has taken over, all Youtube accounts need to be linked to a google account. I have tried to claim back this channel but I’m getting error messages saying that this channel is not available to be claimed. This means that someone else has linked the ofbiz channel to their google account. Is there anyone out there in the community that has owner access to log into the ofbiz youtube channel ? (Because it would be good to get it back for use for the project) Thanks Sharan |
Hi Everyone
A quick update on this. Anil contacted me and he last logged into the OFBiz Youtube channel a couple of years ago so he is going to check his archives for the login details. Thanks Sharan |
Hi All
Another update on this. I’ve contacted a few people including Bruno who set up the OFBiz Youtube channel originally but no one has been able to grant me access to manage the channel. All Youtube channels are now linked to the channel manager’s google account. The current manager of the OFBiz Youtube channel (and we dont know who this is) needs to grant access for other people to login to it. If you can login to the OFBiz Youtube Channel then you are the manager so please contact me. Thanks Sharan |
Someone might have asked this already: would it be easier to set up a
new channel with a slightly different name? On 15-11-10 12:50 PM, Sharan-F wrote: > Hi All > > Another update on this. Hi Todd
Yes - I think that would be the best solution if we cant get access to the original one. Thanks Sharan |
If this is a proper YouTube channel, then it might be associated with a
Google+ account. Maybe you could find out who owns the Google+ account, to have yourself and/or others added as manager. Why not just contact https://plus.google.com/110014912638495318605/about ?
Pierre seems to already be in the circles of this account. Hi Pierre / Michael
Over the last few weeks I've tried to find out who is the Googe+ manager is and have contacted the people who set up the channel originally but the old passwords or logins dont work as it was pre-google+. Anil mentioned that he did login in 2014 but the login details he sent me dont work anymore. I think it is linked a Google+ account because I've tried to reclaim it as the manager using the old logins but I cant. So I think this means that someone already is the manager - but I dont know who. Also my understanding is that Google wont give out the information about who the channel manager is so at the moment I'm a bit stuck. If anyone else has any other ideas then please go ahead otherwise I think we've lost it and will have to set up an new one. Thanks Sharan |
Sharan,
have you tried to send the channel owner a message? Just log in to Google, call https://www.youtube.com/user/ofbiz/about and use the Message Button left to "Featured Channels". Hi Adrian
Hopefully some good news - myself and Ron are just in the process of recovering the password for the channel, so will let you know how it goes. Thanks Sharan |
Hi Everyone
Excellent news! - We've got our OFBiz Youtube channel back. Thank very much to Ron and also Jacopo for helping put all the pieces together to get us in. I've logged in and setup other people as managers of the channel (Ron, Jacopo, Jacques and myself). Next we need to think about all the things we can put on it. So do we have any potential OFBiz channel film stars out there? Thanks Sharan |
