Manufacturing Bill of Materials substitute?

Hi everyone!

I want to manufacture a rope.

I have two Manufacturing BOM for a rope (e.g. MatA and MatB) and a substitute product for MatA which is MatASub.

Here's the question. When I manufacture the rope and MatA is out-of-stock how can i substitute MatASub?

You can manually edit the components after the production run is  
created and before it is approved.
