Subject: Troublesome times at Apache OFBiz Project
To: [hidden email]

Dear reader,

As pre reply mail of [hidden email], and after having looked through
various pages to find the right place to voice my concerns regarding the
Apache OFBiz Project (without finding it) I am turning to you to redirect
the following to the right location/person(s) within the Foundation to have
it handled or dealt with.

Dear ASF Board member,

Since August 2008 I have been an active contributor (both to the
development of the community and the code) of the OFBiz project, and over
the years since then I have seen the community diminish from being vibrant
to being virtually non-existant due to the fact that:

   - although the list of PMC members state 16 persons only a handfull on
that list are active within the project,
   - the majority of those active committers (PMC members) stifle dialog
and muzzle contributors and try to chase them away (have done so and
continue to do) when questions regarding the development of both community
   and code become to scrutinous,
   - the appointed vice-president and PMC Chair of the project seems to
condone and actively participate in the actions of the committers to
   suppress dialog and scrutiny.

It seems that the OFBiz project is heading in the direction that the ASF is
afraid of, namely into a project that centers around a few individuals
(with a significant part affiliated to 1 organisation) who are working
virtually uncontested. I, and others in the past, have tried to address
this issue (and other related) within the community but it has never met
the consideration and action it deserves.

With sorrow in mind I ask you to please step in and help to resolve the
current stalemate and worrisome direction the project heading to, so that
it can become the project again it once was, where participation is vibrant
and the contributions of all are appreciated.

Sincerely yours,

Pierre Smits
