Hi all,
The Buildbot messages are filling considerable spaces in the DEV mailing list. Wonder if we should move them elsewhere... Regards, James Yong |
Buildbot messages should not be too many, having that many is a faulty
implementation (false positives) So, perhaps we shouldn't necessarily move the notifications away, instead, we should fix the buildbot scripts. I tried a small fix, let's see
If it does not work, the best is to fill at request here https://issues.apache.org/jira/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/create/3 In the meantime you could create a specific buildbot folder in your email client and a rule to send buildbot emails there (mails come from [hidden email], easy) Jacques Le 24/10/2017 à 12:57, Taher Alkhateeb a écrit : > Buildbot messages should not be too many, having that many is a faulty > implementation (false positives) > > So, perhaps we shouldn't necessarily move the notifications away, > instead, we should fix the buildbot scripts. > > On Tue, Oct 24, 2017 at 1:32 PM, James Yong <[hidden email]> wrote: >> Hi all, >> >> The Buildbot messages are filling considerable spaces in the DEV mailing list. >> Wonder if we should move them elsewhere... >> >> Regards, >> James Yong >> >> |

Hi all,
I believe most people has little interest with the historical Buildbot messages while browsing through the topics in the DEV mailing list. Would the COMMITS mailing list be better location for Buildbot messages? Hi Jacques,
I created a request for it: https://issues.apache.org/jira/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/INFRA-15378 Regards, James Yong On 2017-10-26 05:05, Jacques Le Roux <[hidden email]> wrote: > Le 25/10/2017 à 18:11, James Yong a écrit : > > Hi all, > > > > I believe most people has little interest with the historical Buildbot messages while browsing through the topics in the DEV mailing list. > > > > Would the COMMITS mailing list be better location for Buildbot messages? > This would be a question for infra... > > Jacques > > > > Regards, > > James Yong > > > > On 2017-10-24 18:57, Taher Alkhateeb <[hidden email]> wrote: > >> Buildbot messages should not be too many, having that many is a faulty > >> implementation (false positives) > >> > >> So, perhaps we shouldn't necessarily move the notifications away, > >> instead, we should fix the buildbot scripts. > >> > >> On Tue, Oct 24, 2017 at 1:32 PM, James Yong <[hidden email]> wrote: > >>> Hi all, > >>> > >>> The Buildbot messages are filling considerable spaces in the DEV mailing list. > >>> Wonder if we should move them elsewhere... > >>> > >>> Regards, > >>> James Yong > >>> > >>> > > |

Thanks James,
I'm very sorry, I was totally busy when I answered; and yesterday night, as always just before sleeping, I remembered this is set in our Buildbot config. I'll set as you suggested, please close the Jira as not a problem Jacques Le 26/10/2017 à 17:46, James Yong a écrit : > Hi Jacques, > > I created a request for it: > https://issues.apache.org/jira/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/INFRA-15378 > > Regards, > James Yong > > On 2017-10-26 05:05, Jacques Le Roux <[hidden email]> wrote: >> Le 25/10/2017 à 18:11, James Yong a écrit : >>> Hi all, >>> >>> I believe most people has little interest with the historical Buildbot messages while browsing through the topics in the DEV mailing list. >>> >>> Would the COMMITS mailing list be better location for Buildbot messages? >> This would be a question for infra... >> >> Jacques >>> Regards, >>> James Yong >>> >>> On 2017-10-24 18:57, Taher Alkhateeb <[hidden email]> wrote: >>>> Buildbot messages should not be too many, having that many is a faulty >>>> implementation (false positives) >>>> >>>> So, perhaps we shouldn't necessarily move the notifications away, >>>> instead, we should fix the buildbot scripts. >>>> >>>> On Tue, Oct 24, 2017 at 1:32 PM, James Yong <[hidden email]> wrote: >>>>> Hi all, >>>>> >>>>> The Buildbot messages are filling considerable spaces in the DEV mailing list. >>>>> Wonder if we should move them elsewhere... >>>>> >>>>> Regards, >>>>> James Yong >>>>> >>>>> >> |
Hi Jacques,
No worry. I have closed the issue as advised. Thank you. Hi,
As I thought, it was not an issue in our script but effectively an infra issue So we still have repetitive success, or failure, reports, when it should be only triggered on state changes . I have created INFRA-15394 for that Jacques Le 24/10/2017 à 13:21, Jacques Le Roux a écrit : > I tried a small fix, let's see > > If it does not work, the best is to fill at request here https://issues.apache.org/jira/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/create/3 > > In the meantime you could create a specific buildbot folder in your email client and a rule to send buildbot emails there (mails come from > [hidden email], easy) > > Jacques > > > Le 24/10/2017 à 12:57, Taher Alkhateeb a écrit : >> Buildbot messages should not be too many, having that many is a faulty >> implementation (false positives) >> >> So, perhaps we shouldn't necessarily move the notifications away, >> instead, we should fix the buildbot scripts. >> >> On Tue, Oct 24, 2017 at 1:32 PM, James Yong <[hidden email]> wrote: >>> Hi all, >>> >>> The Buildbot messages are filling considerable spaces in the DEV mailing list. >>> Wonder if we should move them elsewhere... >>> >>> Regards, >>> James Yong >>> >>> > > |
