This post was updated on .
I just took a look now, it describes permissions for the myportal component demo users, I already added the MYPORTAL_CUSTOMER to the user in my situation.. I have assigned that same customer access to a project i created. I assigned them as a "client billing" Company resource. Am i missing something else?
Thanks. |
Help Please, customer is getting anxious...

First of all this is support group where people support other people in
their free time? So demanding help is not the right way? If you want timely help please check one of the providers you can find at: http://www.ofbiz.info/control/providers ? Secondly, the reason that you do not get an answer is that there is no 'project' tab in the myportal component in the versions which were in our svn..... Thanks Hans and BJ, I would love to be able to make the change required, I've checked everywhere i can think off to enable the project to be visible, i thought i could get some assistance. Apologies if it sounded demanding but seems simple and i know you smart guys could answer pretty quickly.
Hans, Are you saying the current OFBIZ build does not have a project tab for the MY PORTAL component when a user with the MYPORTAL_CUSTOMER permission logs in? I have a feeling it has to do with permissions and i'm not sure where else to look. |
Not directly meant for you, but a Consultant should know ofbiz to the
level necessary to implement and support a client. Your situation typifies why this is important. You will find that ones that have this level of knowledge are busy supporting their own client base. PS I give you the direction to go Tolu Williams sent the following on 9/7/2011 9:10 AM: > Thanks Hans and BJ, I would love to be able to make the change required, I've > checked everywhere i can think off to enable the project to be visible, i > thought i could get some assistance. I'm using OFBIZ to manage my business not as a consultant implementing it for another business.
I provide access to my customers through my portal. Also i am using only seed data because i'm in production so i'm not sure what it is you're pointing at when you reference MyPortalDemoData.xml. I think some of the special purpose apps still have a long way to go before they can be implemented for some of my clients. |
you are right, Ofbiz OTTB is not meant to be a completed system.
Many areas are mostly complete, but many are not. This is stated in the Documents. It is meant to be a source for Providers to supply a customer after the end Goal is defined, or someone that has spent the time learning ofbiz so they can modify it to their needs. I would be in the second category, i'd like to modify to suit my needs, can you at least confirm whether or not my problem is the expected behaviour? can you give me a hint on how to use your first hint?
|
two recommendations
1) please include previous responses you will get a quicker response. 2) research each line item in the demo reference I gave you and understand their importance. I suggest you run a localhost copy to play with and put in each line separately till you get it to work.
