Night fishing in Seychelles: is it worth trying and what to expect?

SwehRose
Snorkeling near Praslin was something I did earlier in the day before my first night fishing trip, and it honestly helped me get a feel for the waters. Seeing all the reef life and how calm the waters were during the afternoon made me feel more confident heading out after sunset. I had never done night fishing before, so I was curious about what to expect — would the fish bite at all, and is it safe for someone who’s never done it?

I’ve tried a few night trips, and doing snorkeling near Praslin beforehand is actually a smart idea. You get a sense of the currents, reef locations, and depth changes. If you want tips about planning and what to bring, https://charterclick.sc/our-services/fishing-seychelles covers night trips and explains techniques for catching species that are more active after dark. On my first night, following the crew’s guidance made it exciting and safe — we ended up with a couple of big tuna, and I learned a lot about offshore conditions I never noticed during daytime fishing.

Just popping in — I haven’t done night fishing myself, but I did a sunset snorkeling trip near Praslin once. The water was calm, and the whole area glowed with reflections from the setting sun. Even without fishing, being out there at night must feel magical. I can imagine that combining snorkeling knowledge with nighttime fishing would make the experience way more comfortable and enjoyable.
