OFBiz Documentation Survey Initial Feedback

Hi Everyone

A big thank you to everyone that completed the OFBiz Documentation Survey.  In total we had 76 responses. I’m still collating the details as not everyone responded to all the questions but wanted to provide you with some draft highlights below:

Type of Respondents
• 78% install or implement OFBiz for other businesses (To me this means that the majority are OFBiz integrators or implementers)
• 41% use OFBiz to run their business
• 31% consult ERP or recommend OFBiz to clients (A few respondents chose this as well as the first option so - again integrators and implementers)
• 12% are in the process of evaluating OFBiz for use in their company (I think this shows our potential new users and it might be good to capture some further information from this group).

NOTE: This question allowed multiple answers.

OFBiz Version
• 28% are running the Trunk
• 35% are running 13.07
• 25% are running 12.04
• 8% are running 11.04
• 2.5% are running 10.04 or earlier

How Long Running OFBiz
• 9.5 % less than 12 months (An indication of new OFBiz users)
• 31% 1 – 2 years
• 18.5% 2-5 yeas
• 39% Over 5 years

NOTE: This wasn’t applicable in some cases because they were evaluating

Community Involvement
• 21% were already officially involved (e.g. committers, PMC etc)
• 29% would like to get more involved (I am really glad to see this as I know there is an ongoing discussion on the health of the community. It’s good to see that there are people out there willing and waiting to contribute to the project.)
• 40% ask questions or read the mailing lists
• 8% respond to questions
• 2 % don’t think there is any community

The questions about people’s opinion of the documentation will take a bit more collating so will post the details when I’ve done that but its good to see that over 97% of the respondents use the Wiki to look for information!
