Hi all,
I think it was easier when we had 2 demo
reference sites from http://www.ofbiz.org/.
For at least 2 reasons :
1) If a server was down the other was
there
2) The David's server was updated frequently
(perhaps at each commit ?)
I use sometimes demo reference servers to quickly
verify a point without having to update or when I am off of my
office.
So my question : why only one server now ? If
needed I can think about offering an OFBiz demo server to the
community...
Jacques

The main OFBiz demo server is no longer available because I changed office space and in my new office I only have a single IP address available until the ISP decides to provide more options... If anyone is interested in hosting a demo server you are of course free to do so at any time, just let me know where it is running and I'll throw a link and credit on the ofbiz.org site. -David On Jul 24, 2005, at 10:59 AM, Jacques Le Roux wrote: > Hi all, > > I think it was easier when we had 2 demo reference sites from > http://www.ofbiz.org/. > > For at least 2 reasons : > > 1) If a server was down the other was there > > 2) The David's server was updated frequently (perhaps at each > commit ?) > > I use sometimes demo reference servers to quickly verify a point > without having to update or when I am off of my office. > > So my question : why only one server now ? David,
OK, I will try as soon as possible (I hope before end of august) to have 2 OFBiz running on the same machine and after that I will let you know about it. It's an old machine (2000) but for some tests it's ok. This OFBiz server will be updated regularly. Please, is there somewhere a document explaining which ports must be changed on one of the 2 OFBiz for having 2 OFBiz running on the same machine ? David,
I finally did it.Here are the links : http://lamouline.myvnc.com:8081/ecommerce/control/main https://lamouline.myvnc.com:8441/catalog/main As I said it's an old machine (PIII 500MHz, 384Mo of RAM) and it's running 2 instances of OFBiz (indeed 1 OFBiz and 1 Neogia) but it's OK for tests I believe. It is based on trunk (currently svn 5818), I might update it on a regular basis (daily I think). Tell me If you wish to use it, otherwise I will stop it. Jacques, Having a demo site that is refreshed regularly would be great. I'm having some trouble reaching this server, ie not getting a response. Is anyone else able to hit it? I guess in general I'm not sure about this, if we have a demo we want it to respond well and such. I appreciate the effort though, hopefully we can get a better machine/connection/etc sooner or later. -David On Sep 25, 2005, at 7:58 AM, Jacques Le Roux wrote: > David, > > I finally did it.Here are the links : > http://lamouline.myvnc.com:8081/ecommerce/control/main > https://lamouline.myvnc.com:8441/catalog/main > > As I said it's an old machine (PIII 500MHz, 384Mo of RAM) and it's > running 2 > instances of OFBiz (indeed 1 OFBiz and 1 Neogia) but it's OK for > tests I > believe. > > It is based on trunk (currently svn 5818), I might update it on a > regular > basis (daily I think). > Tell me If you wish to use it, otherwise I will stop it. > > Jacques > > > >> Check out the Basic Production Setup Guide. It's a machine at home. I use no-IP for DNS redirection.
It seems to work well from inside my home (I use RTC - ie no router - to verify ;o). I tried sometime earlier outside of home and it was ok also. Any idea ? It seems that no one is interested, so I give up.

Jacques, That may be... The demo site has always had some traffic on it, but it has never been a huge priority, especially among established and decided users of OFBiz who are the ones on the mailing lists. Within a few months we should have the old one back up (when I get back into a more permanent office). Thanks anyway for your efforts on this. -David On Sep 28, 2005, at 11:52 PM, Jacques Le Roux wrote: > It seems that no one is interested, so I give up. > > Jacques > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jacques Le Roux" <[hidden email]> > To: "OFBiz Users / Usage Discussion" <[hidden email]> > Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 5:07 PM > Subject: Re: [OFBiz] Users - OFBiz (demo reference) > > > >> It's a machine at home. Hi Jacques,
I cannot access this from here (either site) but this may be because the company firewall appears to block all but non standard ports (80 and 443). I will check this from home but it didn't work yesterday. I'm not sure how to investigate though I'm afraid. Ian,
Perhaps try this links to verify : http://lamouline.myvnc.com:8080/ecommerce https://lamouline.myvnc.com:8443/catalog It's an OFBiz instance (svn 5854) running on my development machine. and also http://lamouline.myvnc.com:8082/ecommerce https://lamouline.myvnc.com:8442/catalog running concurrently on my poor man server but if it's not working for 8081 it will not work either for 8082. Sometimes this instance is down (it's and old customised Neogia demo - may 2004 - and I think there is some problem in the DB...) Thanks for the try :o) Jacques ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ian Gilbert" <[hidden email]> To: "OFBiz Users / Usage Discussion" <[hidden email]> Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2005 10:41 AM Subject: Re: [OFBiz] Users - OFBiz (demo reference) > Hi Jacques, > > I cannot access this from here (either site) but this may be because the > company firewall appears to block all but non standard ports (80 and 443). > I will check this from home but it didn't work yesterday. > > I'm not sure how to investigate though I'm afraid. > > Ian > > On Thu, September 29, 2005 5:52 am, Jacques Le Roux wrote: > > It seems that no one is interested, so I give up. > > > > > > Jacques > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Jacques Le Roux" <[hidden email]> > > To: "OFBiz Users / Usage Discussion" <[hidden email]> > > Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 5:07 PM > > Subject: Re: [OFBiz] Users - OFBiz (demo reference) > > > > > > > >> It's a machine at home. The first one works (port 8080) but the others don't I'm afraid.

> Ian So as you mentioned it's seems that you have not access to other ports. In a near future, I will change ports configurations to manage that... For the moment I'm upgrading Neogia so ports 8082 and 8442 (old Neogia) are not available, ports 8080 8443 (Ofbiz svn 5856) and 8081 8441 (Ofbiz svn 5854) are still available.
