OFBiz accounting module with french rules.

Pedro Lopes
Hello all,

I am evaluating OFBiz for implementing on a non-profit organization. We are
located in France and in other countries of Europe like England, Italy,
Spain, Holland and others. I heard that french accounting has its own
rules, different from internationally adopted ones. Soon, this weekend or
next week, i will have a former volunteer accounting colleague to evaluate
OFBiz's accounting module to see if it can work well with french rules to
possibly replace the current application, to profit from OFBiz integration.

Has anyone had experience with french accounting rules and OFBiz? Are there
any changes to be made to the base accounting module?

Thank you very much in advance,

Pedro

Re: OFBiz accounting module with french rules.

Pedro Lopes
Hello,

This is a *foundation matter* because we already have an accounting
software in place for almost 10 years and the software looks good, ( i am
no expert on accounting matters ) it is Ciel Compta. I really need to be
sure about support / existing french accounting extensions ( even paid ) to
understand to what extent we can profit from OFBiz modules interaction or
to opt for integration with exiting solution.

Thanks for further help on this subject,

Pedro

Hi  Pedro,

I never use the the accounting legder system present on OFBiz for the
french rule. For historic reason, we develop ten years ago an other
accounting component with a conception that inspirited from baan erp.

It's currently use by some french companies and is the base for the
project tercompta.
Unfortunately for the ofbiz accounting standard, I havn't feedback for you

Nicolas

Re: OFBiz accounting module with french rules.

Pedro Lopes
Thank you Nicholas,

I might be wrong on this one, but i think it is important to try to keep
all the eggs on one basket to benefit from integration, unless the
components are very different from what is expected but so far it does not
seem to be the case.

Thank you,

Pedro
