OFBiz implementation cost

 Hi,
Does anybody here know the overall cost of implementing OFBiz in a SME, and
how long does the process last? and, too, what are training fees? (if there
are trainigs). I'm working on a comparison between open source solutions for
SME, and this kind of details aren't really available.

these lines about OFBiz: have you found similar information for any  
other prospective solutions, commercial or open source?

The question was about WebERP, that was just a mistake. For the moment I've
found something about SAP Business One (here is the link:
http://www.sap.com/smallbusiness/business_value/costs/index.epx) and
Compiere (http://www.compiere.com/training/index.html). now I'm seeking for
data about WebERPa nd OFBIz.

The answer is very complex to give but here is my method to make quick
evaluation for customer project costs.
To evaluate if a open source ERP solution is better than a proprietary ERP
solution for a customer, I ask to the lead its budget and number of
end-users.

Then you can evaluate the open source ERP solution budget between 2k euros and
4k euros per end-user. This budget includes : training, implementation,
development, deployment, technical assistance.
The difference is due by features to implement, new features to add,
availability and skill of customer project team.

Then with the customer tender, I can evaluate in details the project costs.

An open source ERP can take between 4 to 12 months depends to customer team
availability and skills, amount of data to load from old systems, features to
implement or develop, ...

Training costs start from 250 euros / person / day.

Maintenance and support is a ratio calculated with number of users, number of
implemented business components(manufacturing, order, finance, ...) and
customer specific files.

Just a side-note related to what Yannick wrote here:

There are dozens of OFBiz service providers. It is a community driven  
open source project, so there is no central company like SAP or  
Compiere that is your only choice for OFBiz related services.

Because of this prices and practices will vary a great deal among the  
various service providers, so you have a lot of options in this area.

I full aggree you wrote. My post only aims to explain MY method to evaluate
project costs not to give THE method. In fact, yoy're right, there is no
generic method to evaluate open source ERP project budgets.

And this method can only be applied to ERP project not the e-commerce
projects.

Saad, another you have to keep in mind : with open source project you can use
services from multiple service providers. ex : 1 for implementation and 1 for
support.

Why would that be? Often ERP systems, except in small businesses, are  
just as custom as ecommerce systems.

Not really. commercial ERP have just extra constants : licences costs,
maintenance costs based on a ratio of 15% of licence costs.

Yes, but sometime for very samll business (or starting business) you can
evaluate project budget with incomes estimated in business plan.

i'm working just on the same thing for about three weeks. And, to ask this question again, is this a comparison about erp-systems or perhaps about an e-commerce-soulution?

My study is a technical and econimical comparison of open-source e-commerce-soulutions for SME. The nominees are mainly osCommerce and OFBiz.
