santosh malviya-2
Hello all,
We are facing a problem of generating bar code inside pdf, same problem
with OOTB but it was being generated until few days back, cause may be
the following site in the code  <barcode:barcode
xmlns:barcode="http://barcode4j.krysalis.org/ns" />. When we try to open
this site there is an error message of "The page can't be found".
Because of this site used in the code we get following error/warning on

Yes BJ, I think there is a possibility of server migration or something like that.
Thanks for looking into this, let's see what other users think about this.

This is just a namespace (really just a unique string), there doesn't
have to be a site.

I just did a quick check with
https://localhost:8443/catalog/control/EditProduct?productId=GZ-1000
and got the same error. So it seems the barcode generation is currently
broken in trunk (maybe because of some jar updates). I'll have a closer
look when/if I'll find some time.

I could not find a local copies of the xsd files
nor could I find it on the svn for barcode4j
I send an email to the developers, as well as the site admin, still no
response.
the main developer had his email at krysalis.org and it bounced.

This is still an issue and I don't see how to fix it since I don't know where to find the related xsd file...

Re: Problem in generating bar code

Deepesh Kapoor
Hello All,

This problem still persists,  krysalis.org doesnot seem to respond. In
this case what could be the alternative for Barcode generation.
Please provide thoughts on this issue.

Thanks & Regards

As already mentioned the problem is not with the krysalis.org site...

I started looking at this issue (and just at the moment I'm testing FOP
0.95 wit OFBiz - looks like everything has been updated except the
fop.jar itself..)

the problem is not from the website, I've been trying to generate
barcodes with an older version and it is working.

For the fop barcode library, it is said that with fop 0.95 it's better
to use the 2.0 to make it work, but this changes nothing. you have to
put the new library (barcode4j-fop-ext-complete.jar) in
framework/webapp/lib/ and update your .classpath file.

Re: Problem in generating bar code

BJ Freeman
In reply to this post by Jacques Le Roux
Got a response back from the developers:

This is not a URL, it's a namespace URI! Barcode4J's website is at
http://barcode4j.sourceforge.net.

Barcode4J used to be part of the Krysalis Project but that was disbanded
and that's why there's no krysalis.org domain anymore. But that doesn't
have any effect on Barcode4J and its ability to produce barcodes.

just have to recode since it works
http://barcode4j.sourceforge.net/applet.html

Hello Erwan,
Thanks for your reply,  following your suggestion I downloaded the jar
barcode4j-fop-ext-complete.jar from link
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=96670&package_id=103341&release_id=599201,
and put the jar in framework/webapp/lib and also in classpath,  but
still I am not able to see barcode in my pdf.  Please suggest if I am
missing something.

Thanks and Regards

Re: Problem in generating bar code

Erwan de FERRIERES-3
Hi,
we are at the same point for the moment...

The point that is interessant is this line when you try to print the
barcode :
ModelScreenWidget.java:972:WARN ] In platform-dependent could not find
template for xsl-fo, using the one for html.

So it seems that there is no subWidget defined for printing the xsl-fo
file, or it has a null value.

             ModelScreenWidget subWidget = null;
             subWidget =
(ModelScreenWidget)subWidgets.get(screenStringRenderer.getRendererName());
             if (subWidget == null) {
                 // This is here for backward compatibility
                 Debug.logWarning("In platform-dependent could not find
template for " + screenStringRenderer.getRendererName() + ", using the
one for html.", module);
                 subWidget = (ModelScreenWidget)subWidgets.get("html");
             }
             if (subWidget != null) {
                 subWidget.renderWidgetString(writer, context,
screenStringRenderer);
             }

So, maybe there is something to dig in this direction or maybe I'm
totally on the wrong idea !

Cheers,

Re: Problem in generating bar code

Jacopo Cappellato-4
well,

the warning message is now fixed in rev.  768246 but the bar code is
still not rendered.
I suspect that this is related to the fop upgrade from 0.94 to 0.95
(rev. 766125).
One question I have is: is barcode4j-fop-ext-0.20.5-complete.jar
(contained in barcode4j-2.0 newer than the one we are using (barcode4j-
fop-ext-0.93.jar)? It doesn't seem from the release number, but I
suspect that 0.93 is referred to the FOP version it is designed for...

Re: Problem in generating bar code

Erwan de FERRIERES-3
Here is the same problem, and they say that we should remove the old
0.93 jar, and use the new one. I've

http://www.mail-archive.com/fop-users@.../msg10979.html

I've just tried, but always no barcode

Yes, I confirm this issue.
Actually using either (barcode4j.jar + barcode4j-fop-ext.jar) or barcode4j-fop-ext-complete.jar (following
http://barcode4j.sourceforge.net/2.0/fop-ext.html), I'm eventually getting this error related to Batik(?)
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/w3c/dom/svg/SVGDocument

I checked we have the lastest versions of FOP (0.95) and Batik (1.7)
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/download.html
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/download.cgi

I will search a bit more and, if nobody see a reason, will revert to the previous state wich was working.

The complete error in log is
