Product Attributes - compare and search

I'm creating an eCommerce store where I want the customer to be able to search (use faceted search) and compare products in the store based on product attributes. e.g. the customer should be able to view the Camera specification on the product page, search and compare Cameras based on shutter speed, ISO, resolution, body type, aperture, image format supported etc.
To enable this, I've added attributes to my products however I'm not sure how to display them on the product page, product comparison chart or use them for faceted search (I'm using SOLR search).

Any help, pointers would be highly appreciated ..
