Question about adding a new product

cruiz
Hello everyone!

On Catalog -> New Product, there's a field called 'Require Inventory' with a Y/N option.
What does this means?
"Should inventory be required to purchase this product? If not specified defaults to Store setting."

I also want to know if there's a way to automatically have a PO when a product is at a minimum level?

Thanks!

When setting up a store you can set whether products need to have
inventory to be purchasable from the store.  Not sure which overrides
which.

This is used for drop shipping. It allow to sell a product you don't have in inventory. It overrides the store setting.

Jacques, if I remember right, "Require Inventory" is used for the
opposite , ie for preventing order creation  when the product is not
available in the inventory.

You may have automatically created requirements when products is at
minimum level. Then it is possible to create a PO from requirements only
with 2 clicks.

Hi Bilgin,

I can't seem to see how you can create a PO from 2 clicks when a
requirement has been created?

Appreciate the tip if you can spare the time!

Paul

Re: Question about adding a new product

I will answer my own quesion:

When in the purchase order entry screen, you can select Requirements
from Quick Links. Find your requirement and add the item to current order.

Or from Requirements menu in OrderManager, approve requirements and then
use "Purchase Order Quick Entry".

BTW why don't you check also products from "Drop Ship Products"
category?
