Re: PROPOSAL: Setup Apache OFBiz Company Page on LinkedIn

Swapnil Mane
Thanks for taking this initiative Deepak.

Should we have LinkedIn Group instead of having Company for OFBiz.

Found some of the groups of Apache Projects on LinkedIn

Apache Spark - https://www.linkedin.com/groups/7403611/profile

Here is link for more groups

Re: PROPOSAL: Setup Apache OFBiz Company Page on LinkedIn

Deepak Dixit-3
Hi Swapnil,

Purpose of Company Page and Group is different, we can setup group as well

*Company Page: *
*The company page is like your company website within LinkedIn. *
*It is for your employees and customers and should showcase your customers,
employees, services, products and events*

Groups:
*The group is a discussion forum, it should contain relevant topics for
your target audience.*

Hi Deepak,

I was wondering but (thanks to Swapnil 1st effort on groups) I see few TLP projects (no only Open Office) also among companies

https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/companies/?keywords=apache&origin=GLOBAL_SEARCH_HEADER&page=3

So it's OK with me

Thanks for the effort

Jacques

Re: PROPOSAL: Setup Apache OFBiz Company Page on LinkedIn

Actually when I say "few TLP projects" I finally found only 2 others but Open Office: CouchDb and CloudStack. I stopped after the 8th page...

Of course there is also "The Apache Software Foundation" <https://www.linkedin.com/company-beta/215982/>

But Apache CloudStack <https://s.apache.org/Gh4m> is not what I thought it was. It's a company which is improperly using the Apache CloudStack name
and should maybe be reported (if CloudStack  has registered)

So there seems to be only Open Office and CouchDb. I don't think it's an issue to have a Linkedin company page for Apache OFBiz, mostly because of
Apache CouchDb
<https://www.linkedin.com/company-beta/5242010/>

But I also know that CouchDb is known to have an aggressive marketing behaviour (positively seen at the ASF).

So maybe it's better to check if it's OK to be in Linkedin companies

Jacques
