first, this should be configurable as a preference not a standard.
this is because people that use Droppshippers very rarely hve a barcoded
pO or So to work with.
the is still a manual process since you have to tell ofbiz which field
you scanning, either a informational field like PO/SO number, the Sales
tax, subtotal or an item number.
so the field would have to be selected then use the scanner routines
already in ofbiz.
The other approach is to use a page scanner that has a template that
tells ofbiz what barcode goes where. you would just select the template
and let the scanner do it's job, in the simplest scenario.
The most complicated is template recognition where the code recognized
the page and selects it. if it does not recognize the page it will make
a new one. It is not 100 per cent because the PO is usually not in the
best condition when received.
this software is external to ofbiz and is proprietary. It cost about
$500 from companies like OmniSoft.
