Re: new SFA system

Milind W-2
hi Hans,
This is exactly what I am looking for.
Maybe a bit more in terms of forecasting, campaign management and other
general CRM stuff.
Not sure if Quotes/Proposals/Approvals is considered SFA in Ofbiz world
but its something I would like to build.
How much of what’s listed has been achieved so far?
I see the following entities: Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Leads.
I have a build based on the svn code I checked out a month ago.
I would love to contribute some of my time and maybe one more persons time
from my company for this effort.
My level as far as ofbiz goes is pretty basic (completed Si Chens
helloworld tutorials) at this point.
I think this exercise should help me get beyond the basic level. I have
over decade of CRM experience and technology experience and have worked
with similar architectures/data model to that of ofbiz (infact something
that attracts me to ofbiz over other stuff out there), so I should be able
to contribute in some form.
Is there a good place to see the design documents for the SFA stuff?
Apologizes if this email starts a separate thread. I could not figure out
how to respond to the old thread  so if someone can clue me in on that
front as well, I would appreciate it.

Anil,

My priority for this customer are the following entities and the related
functions:
leads
contacts
accounts
opportunities
activities
requests

In this order and then the rest. My customer is prepared to start with a
basic system, and extend later....the list above would be enough for him
for a first version.

I am prepared to implement the functions according the general OFBiz
principles which i also use in the projectmanager. Review we need to
spread over the people who actually want to use it.

For this customer i need the above functions in about 3 months. If you
can commit for half of the hours (150) in 3 months we could have a deal.

Hans

Re: new SFA system

Milind W-2
Hi Hans,
Thanks for the response and making me feel welcome.

I read the jira issues/design doc and got a basic feeling for the
functionality desired in the SFA module(if thats the correct ofbiz term).
I would be comfortable working on any of the issues and would like to
start with simpler issues first.

I think "1653-Develop a Create Maketing Campaign Process wizard" looks
like a good one to start with.

Right now I am trying to have my environment setup and trying to
understand how patch files, eclipse and subclipse work (if anyone has any
pointers, please share). I will either email some questions if I get stuck
or if I get lucky, maybe a patch.
