Service Product. (from user list)

I would like to suggest a new product type:

'Service product'

Tangible item(s) will be brought in which need to be serviced.
A service here can be cleaning or repairing or servicing of items

These items are listed on the order with or without a price taken from
the product catalog. The order will list a delivery date when the
cleaned/repaired items will be delivered.

Any ideas how to handle this?

Hi Hans,

We handle this subject with a backrest that was an association between a
product ordered service (Quote and Order) and a project (or task).
We receipt the product to repair, and, when operation is finished,
following the billing method, we create the invoice and the shipment return.

All functionalities are present on came addon (Client Asset Management
Extranet) http://addons.neogia.org/addons-10.04/came/

Yes Nicolas, i looked at it, however the license is GPL which prohibits
it for inclusion in OFBiz.

If that would change i would have had a more serious look at it because
it is all in a single component and has only e few patches in OFBiz

Default licence for technical Addons is apache2, for functionnal ones
it's GPL licence . But the priority for Neogia team is to improve OFBiz,
so everything planned to be include in OFBiz project by its community
could be transfered to apache2 licence.

I will look with Neogia team into adding this concept of double licence.
If you have a more serious look into it, do not hesitate to ask me for
help.
