Social and emotional learning in the JMERC classroom prepares students by developing much-needed life skills in self-awareness, empathy, and responsible decision-making. Teachers create a supportive environment through positive communication, teamwork activities, and reflection. The SEL process strengthens relationships, improves behavior, and enhances overall learning by helping students manage their emotions and work well with others in the JMERC classroom.
