It is still valid but might need some updating. I know some work was
done in this area since 2008.

Thanks for the feedback and URL correction (I think I was copying and pasting too quickly!)

Yes, VAT has been better handled. I recently updated the code description at
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/ofbiz/trunk/applications/product/servicedef/services.xml?view=diff&r1=1613120&r2=1613121&pathrev=1613121
Another interesting part begins at TaxAuthorityServices.java[490+], the VAT_PRICE_CORRECT adjustment notably
