Troubleshooting steps to fix QuickBooks event log error 4

To troubleshoot QuickBooks Error event id 4, perform the following steps :

Login in to your PC with the administrator account.
Open Run by pressing Windows and R keys.
In the Run box that opens, type Control.
Click OK and Control Panel will open.
Open the Program and Features window or Add/Remove programs window. You can also directly open the Program and Features window or Add/Remove programs window by typing appwiz.cpl in the Run box and hitting the Enter button.
In the installed programs list, find Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.
Highlight Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.
Choose to uninstall.
After Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 has got completely uninstalled, restart your PC.
After your PC has restarted, again open Run by pressing Windows and R keys.
In the Run box that opens, type Control.
Click OK and Control Panel will open.
Open the Program and Features window or Add/Remove programs window.
Look for Add Remove Windows Features on the left side.
Click Add Remove Windows Features to view Windows Feature screen.
Expand .NET Framework in the Windows Feature screen so that Microsoft .NET 3.5 is visible.
Place checkmarks against both the first and second options.
Click the OK button so that .NET Framework 3.5 gets install on your computer.
After .NET Framework 3.5 installation has completed, press the Finish button.
Finally, restart your PC.
If the QuickBooks Event Log Error 4 is still not resolved, you can follow these steps :
Update QuickBooks to the latest release. If in case, QuickBooks crashes when you try to log in, you can download the updates from the Intuit’s QuickBooks website.
Download QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool from the Intuit website.
Run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool. Before running, close any opened programs.
Restart your PC.
Check if the QuickBooks Error 4 still occurs.
