USD definition

hans_bakker
currently the currency for USD is defined at:

<Uom abbreviation="USD" description="American Dollar" uomId="USD"
uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/>

now the currencies are sorted by country, this is difficult to find in
the list because the USD is not for the complete America continent.

Anybody any objection changing it to:

<Uom abbreviation="USD" description="United States of America Dollar"
uomId="USD" uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/>

?

Regards,
Hans

Hi Hans

The correct name is "United States dollar" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_circulating_currencies

And yes I am in favor of changing it :-)

Scott

Re: USD definition

The list at the moment is "country -- currency abbreviation"

So that is why how the proposal is as below....

so is the country called "United States" or "United States of America"

regards,
Hans

Re: USD definition

Scott Gray-2
To me it appears to be "currency description -- currency abbreviation"
For example we have "Danish Krone -- DKK" not "Denmark Krone -- DKK"
Another "Euro -- EUR"
Also keep in mind that many countries use the USD not just the USA.

Regards
Scott
