currently the currency for USD is defined at:
<Uom abbreviation="USD" description="American Dollar" uomId="USD" uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> now the currencies are sorted by country, this is difficult to find in the list because the USD is not for the complete America continent. Anybody any objection changing it to: <Uom abbreviation="USD" description="United States of America Dollar" uomId="USD" uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> ? Hi Hans
The correct name is "United States dollar" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_circulating_currencies And yes I am in favor of changing it :-) Regards Scott On 27/07/2009, at 4:10 PM, Hans Bakker wrote: > currently the currency for USD is defined at: > > <Uom abbreviation="USD" description="American Dollar" uomId="USD" > uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> > > now the currencies are sorted by country, this is difficult to find in > the list because the USD is not for the complete America continent. > > Anybody any objection changing it to: > > <Uom abbreviation="USD" description="United States of America Dollar" > uomId="USD" uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> > > ? > > Regards, > Hans > > > -- > Antwebsystems.com: Quality OFBiz services for competitive rates > smime.p7s (3K) Download Attachment |

The list at the moment is "country -- currency abbreviation"
So that is why how the proposal is as below.... so is the country called "United States" or "United States of America" regards, Hans On Mon, 2009-07-27 at 16:26 +1200, Scott Gray wrote: > Actually according to ISO it's "US Dollar" http://www.iso.org/iso/support/faqs/faqs_widely_used_standards/widely_used_standards_other/currency_codes/currency_codes_list-1.htm > > Regards > Scott > > On 27/07/2009, at 4:16 PM, Scott Gray wrote: > > > Hi Hans > > > > The correct name is "United States dollar" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_circulating_currencies > > > > And yes I am in favor of changing it :-) > > > > Regards > > Scott > > > > On 27/07/2009, at 4:10 PM, Hans Bakker wrote: > > > >> currently the currency for USD is defined at: > >> > >> <Uom abbreviation="USD" description="American Dollar" uomId="USD" > >> uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> > >> > >> now the currencies are sorted by country, this is difficult to find > >> in > >> the list because the USD is not for the complete America continent. > >> > >> Anybody any objection changing it to: > >> > >> <Uom abbreviation="USD" description="United States of America Dollar" > >> uomId="USD" uomTypeId="CURRENCY_MEASURE"/> > >> > >> ? > >> > >> Regards, > >> Hans > >> > >> > >> -- > >> Antwebsystems.com: Quality OFBiz services for competitive rates > >> > > > Antwebsystems.com: Quality OFBiz services for competitive rates |
To me it appears to be "currency description -- currency abbreviation"
For example we have "Danish Krone -- DKK" not "Denmark Krone -- DKK" Another "Euro -- EUR" Also keep in mind that many countries use the USD not just the USA.
