It seems to me the biggest issues are:
Reliable Bandwidth
Reliable Power
Reliable Security
Monitoring and Support
Static IP
Many broadband users will have trouble getting a truly Static IP,
although it doesn't sound like this will be an issue for you.
It probably would pay to try to host the box yourself for a while,
especially while you are getting everything started. You can always move
at some point in the future after it is setup and running smoothly.
