Users - Request for Feedback on Training Outline

David E. Jones

Many of you have probably seen the training outline documents. I recently updated the basic framework training outline to modernize it, and so that it is a fair outline of what is covered in the Framework Introduction videos that are now on ofbiz.org.

I'm now working on the Advanced Framework outline. In SVN rev 7751 I add some changes, and a few days ago did another set of changes and updates.

At this point I'd appreciate some feedback on it, especially:

1. are there any major topics on common issues related to the framework that are not covered in it?

2. are there any particular details that people would like to see in this?

3. is there anything that seems irrelevant or incorrect?

4. any other issues with it, or rather, potential for improvement?

Note that this outline is specifically for training for developers and architects on the OFBiz framework itself. There are other outlines that cover configuration, deployment, business level artifacts (entities, services, UI stuff), project planning, and so on.

BTW, these outlines are intended to be free to use for anyone for their training and learning purposes (ie self-training or training others). They are also the basis of some of the training recordings distributed by Undersun, and these updated ones will be used for the upcoming new and improved training videos using screen recording and other such materials. Also, for anyone that has the old training recordings we'll be offering these new ones for a very significant discount. I know a number of people have been waiting for something with better audio and video quality... ;)

Thanks,
-David

I just realized I didn't mention: this is in SVN in the file: website/training/AdvancedFramework.html

It will be updated on the ofbiz.org site when the nightly update is run (or if someone needs it sooner let me know and I'll update it manually).

Users - renderSubContentCache

Andrew Sykes
Hi,

We're using <@renderSubContentCache to get CMS images.

Unfortunately, I can't see any way to add other attributes to the
rendered <img /> tag. Is this possible?

Is there a work-around?

why not put HTML in your content's dataressource ?
in this case you can put all the attributes you want

Tibor,

Well, that would be a real last resort, I want to manage images, it
shouldn't be necessary to do something like that.

Re: Users - renderSubContentCache

I tried to get the image type dataressource to work but just like you I didn't manage.
and didn't have the time to debug it.
It certainly isn't much missing but if someone could confirm that this is a bug , I would feel better.
I'm still wondering if it isn't some sort of mistake we are doing in declaring the DR ?

Tibor
