Users - Testing default build ...

Ian Gilbert-2
Hi All,

I'm currently doing some tests on the latest weekly build and am going through a standard order
process.  I've been trying to process an order for some of the Giant Widgets in the default store
setup (only modification is that the currency has been converted to GBP) and am trying to do a
quick ship of the products immediately after the order has been approved.  I'm getting the error:
    *  ProductStore [9000] does not reserve inventory; cannot use Quick Ship for Multiple Facilities
    * Warning: no shipments created; could not find anything ready and needing to be shipped.

The first of these messages is correct, and I can change the productstore settings no problem.  I
am intrigued however as I haven't recieved this message before and so I guess this is a fairly
recent change in the demodata.  Was just wondering what prompted the change.

I understand that when items are reserved then the inventory levels are decremented but the
'multiple facilities' has thrown me a little as my reading of the demo data has only one facility
being set.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Ian

The message is saying that there are no reservations outstanding, so it has nothing to do...

All of the picking, packing and shipping code is based on inventory reservations. If you have inventory reservations turned off in a store then none of these things will work.

That settings is meant only for cases where you are not using OFBiz for inventory management or order fulfillment as it obviously breaks things pretty completely for those.
