access permission

tk-18
Hello all,

I'm having some troubles with setting up user/group permissions, and some
help on application access security system might be welcome.

I'd like the following :
- group1 allowed to view catalog1
- group2 allowed to view catalog2
- catalog1 and catalog2 hidden by default (hidden when no user is logged)

Documentation is talking about the security tab and CATALOG_VIEW, but this
is to allow viewing all of them. Is it possible to set such permissions by
catalog (or by category ?) ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Re: access permission

Hi all,

I'm still searching a way to restrict permissions.

I tried the following : setting up security group and party group, and
removing the 'browse root' link. That way, I got the catalog hidden from
everyone. But I didn't find how to allow a group to access the catalog ?
Any information or documentation to suggest ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Re: access permission

Bruno Busco
This is something that I looked into but not yet perfectly understood. (I
need to come back on this).
I have seen that in OFBiz are defined some XXX_ROLE permissions that, if I
well understand are supposed to give a user some permission only on the
category (or other items) he plays a certain role on.
In the category editing screen there is the possibility to define the roles
played by various users.

Hope this helps,
-Bruno
