HelloI am trying to use ofbiz in a computer store. Following is some high
level process. Customers come in and give a computer for repair. The store/receptionist would like to create the customer request/complaints of the computer. They would enter the model and description of the desktop for identification. The request will then be assigned to a technician. The technician should be able to see his work/tasks. Send reminders for urgent requests etc. Can you do this using workeffort in ofbiz? How much is OOTB? Can anyone help on this on consulting role. Please post your replies or send PM. Thanks varun |

I also want to tie it to orders and invoices. Seems like this is possible
with OOTB. How do you create a workrequest? and then when it is done, how do you raise the invoice. Hash: SHA1 you should read the Data model books reference on the ofbiz.apache.org. book two has a model for Professional services that should get you going in the right direction. My suggestion is you look at the configuration way to make a service order, on the ecommerce side. so each product would be a type of service you provide. repair upgrade my 2 cents computer store sent the following on 3/20/2009 3:29 AM: > I also want to tie it to orders and invoices. At our computer store, we use a streamlined repair requests tracking system tied to ewasteatl practices for responsible e-waste handling and transparent customer updates. Each ticket logs device issues, repair progress, parts status, and completion timelines, ensuring accountability. Clients receive automated notifications and clear communication from intake through final delivery.
