[fedex] Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate Update

Amit Shinde
Hey Everyone,

FYI, Fedex is renewing their SSL certificate tomorrow. They moved to
a chained SSL certificate type. Please refer their message below.

We never had to install any Fedex certs in ofbiz keystore. Is this
update applicable for OFBiz. Do we need to install their certificate now?

TIA,
Amit Shinde

Dear Valued FedEx Customer:

Please ensure that your appropriate team members (e.g., application
server administrators) are aware of the following FedEx planned update:

**Chained Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate Update**

In order to maintain customer confidence in our Web connections, FedEx
is renewing our SSL certificate with VeriSign, a trusted certificate
holding authority.  FedEx moved to a chained SSL certificate type for
our test environment on March 19, 2009, and will move our production
environment to a chained SSL certificate on Aug. 1, 2009.

If you are using a custom interfacing application, please verify that
your systems support chained certificates. Administrators of Web servers
that do not support chained certificates should contact their server
software provider for technical assistance.  If you are unsure whether
your application works with chained certificates, it is recommended that
you test your application in the FedEx test environment.  Applications
should be redirected to gatewaybeta.fedex.com for testing. If you need a
local copy of the FedEx test certificate installed on your system, you
can download the updated certificate.

On Aug. 1, 2009, customers exchanging transactions in production with
FedEx will be required to support chained certificates.  Customers
needing a local copy of the FedEx production certificate installed on
their configuration can download the updated certificate.    FedEx
supplied API clients (e.g. ATOM) are not affected by these changes.

If you have any questions or need technical assistance, please contact
the FedEx Help Desk at 1.877.339.2774 or send an e-mail to
[hidden email] <mailto:[hidden email]>.

Thank you for choosing FedEx. We appreciate your business.
