invoice.PURCHASE_INVOICE.decimals

Jacques Le Roux

Hi,

At http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=574397 Si Chen sets
invoice.PURCHASE_INVOICE.decimals = 4
when we have also
invoice.SALES_INVOICE.decimals = 2

Anybody has an idea why?

Thanks

Jacques

Jacques,

Only Si Chen can tell why he did what he did. We can only guess.

But, if you feel that it would create or enhance consistency, feel free to
change it.

Regards,

Pierre Smits

Just don' be hasty. This isn' t the first time I have seen currency values expressed to four digits. It might be useful and wise to ask an accountant about why one would use four digits after the decimal point, and when. And get an accountant' s perspective on what consistency is appropriate.

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Ted

Jacques,

Then I suggest to contact Si Chen. He might tell why.

And if he is unreachable for whatever reason, ask an accountant, if he
or she can speculate as to the reason.  I'd have asked one, if I knew
one, but surely the accountants at the companies the folk here deal
with may have some insights.

I am curious too, and don't have an answer, so I will read suggested
rationales with interest.

Cheers
