It makes sense if you are interested by bleeding-edge...
Trunk is leading-edge, 10.04 stable, 9.04 released. I think you get it...
>For now, I only want to use it
> for the frontend store so I am wondering if it is feasible and recommendable
> to mix with an old trunk revision without jQuery integration or just put by
> hand the right files in the right places and do some changes (in main
> decorators as I guess) in order to have this at a minimum level of
> integration needed to work with that.
For now jQuery branch is only a translation from Dojo/Prototype+Scriptaculous. In some place, where it was any longer needed,
Prototype libs load have been removed. But it's still stay lauched in common/widget/CommonScreens.xml. Not for long, most will be
soon migrated and I expect to remove Prototype from there too (this weekend I guess).
> If the second choice makes more sense, can anyone tell me more or less which
> files are affected and what I should change?
If you are only interested by eCommerce see
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-3978. At large see the umbrella task.
