Hey Jacques,
it is great that you back ported to r17, but might this issue not also exists in r16? Without a (reworked) patch, like the one you applied to r17, there is no way for others to test and/or maybe adjust to have it working with r16 without having to go through the entire cycle.
Can you upload what you have applied to r17?
