Thanks [~surajk] for pointing this out.
I checked on release18.12 and release17.12 branch and found that issue #2 persists on both the release branch. Interestingly Issue #1 seems to be working fine on both the release branch irrespective of incorrect markup.
Anyway, the fix(markup correction) for issue #1 won't affect anything if we backport it on the release18.12 and release17.12.
