Paul,
To summarize current situation:
* We all agree about keeping prices without taxes in DB.
* Would be interesting to have UIs to handle gross prices (tax-inclusive prices), but we will then cross an issue with decimals, so something should be added to the data model to handle it.
* We still lack VAT/GST/etc. reports
